稀釋尿液
稀釋了的尿液能減低鳥糞石及草酸鈣石的濃度，亦能增加排尿量，確保膀胱得到定期的清洗
預防牙石
多磷酸納結合唾液中的鈣，有助阻礙牙石的形成
